UNUSUAL ANTIQUE GEORGIAN ENGLISH GILT WATCH BALANCE COCK DROP EARRINGS c1780

Description

A wonderful pair of antique English gilt metal drop earrings; made from four ornately hand pierced, very old watch balance cocks.
Probably put together in the early-mid Victorian period, they have gilt chain drops and incredible hand engraved decoration depicting a mythical beast, flower, wheel, urn etc, they have ear posts for pierced ears and are in great condition! They date
from around 1760/80 and are in excellent, fully wearable condition throughout, with no loss or damage. Together they weigh 5.0 grams and they have a 2-inch drop. The final photo shows them with a US penny (1 cent) coin for scale, which measures 19 mm / ¾ of an inch diameter.
