    Description

Handmade Georgian pendant, converted from a brooch, with mixed cut diamonds (all tested). Most of the diamonds are rose-cuts, two are table cuts. The two table-cuts & 1 round diamond measure approximately 4.7mm, 4.7mm and 4.3mm; two pear shaped diamonds measuring approximately 3mm x 4.8mm and 3.7mm x 5.25mm. There are also 18 tiny roughly cut rose-cuts throughout. The diamonds are truly a mixture - a few are amazingly white with few inclusions under 10x magnification, some are salt and pepper and have inclusions. I've been told that Georgian jewelers sometimes used whatever stones they had available rather than trying to match things and that seems to be the case here. Dating to the 18th century, this is an example of using what materials were on hand. The stones are in pinched collet settings. There are several stones with chips. The piece measures 1.5" in diameter. The stones are set in silver with open backs. A bale has been added when the pin stem was removed and I have added a sheer silk ribbon but you may prefer a chain.
The listing is for the pendant only. The box shown is not included but the pendant will be shipped in a gift box. The included appraisal was done by a GIA Graduate Gemologist.
