This  24" x 9" power planer with 10 hp motor and helical carbide cutter head is built for precise, and consistent thickness planing. The cutter inserts have four sides which can be rotated for renewed sharpness. This planer will plane material without the typical tear out that results from straight knife planers. The shearing angle of a helical cutter head produces very smooth surfaces, which means less sanding afterwards. The light duty table extensions are shop built, and are held on with 4 c-clamps, and can be removed in minutes, if necessary. You will need 3 phase power to run this machine. Below, you find further information. The cuter head uses replaceable carbide inserts which have 4 sides that can be used before having to replace all. This planer has used 3 of the 4 sides and can be rotated to the 4th side for a renewed finish which can last for a year or two (depending on usage)  before change out. These carbide inserts will  plane many times more B.F. of lumber before becoming dull than high speed steel, straight knife planers. In the photos you will see an out feed and in feed roller support which clamps on to the factory bed. These help support long lengths of wood, and move with the bed height, which saves having to constantly adjust independent support stands. They are strong and light and do not put excess load on the bed.
