Reference:
The "Reference" graded tube will exceed the manufactures "New Test Values" by at least 5% , have
balanced sections within 15%
and will have been meter and ear selected for the very lowest in noise and highest in audio reproduction. Vintage tubes that are more closely matched than 5% earn a PLUS rating. A "Reference" graded tube in most cases will be housed in a New Vintage Style Custom box and could be an authentic vintage box if that was part of the original issued. Original manufacture's boxes are not graded for condition, but will not be in badly damaged condition.
Audiophile:
A tube that tests in new condition, but may have small blemishes or partially missing labeling. A "Audiophile" graded tube will have exceptionally
high quality audio with very low noise. Audiophile graded tubes meet or exceed the manufactures "New Test Specifications" by up to 4% and have close to balanced sections within 20% .
Vintage tubes that are more closely matched than 20% earn a PLUS rating. Original issue boxes will be provided as available, or a new Vintage Style white box with clear labeling will be provided.
High Fidelity:
A tube that tests in lightly used condition,
thoroughly tested and in excellent
fully functional condition. Labeling may be moderately obscured or missing from cleaning. A "High Fidelity" used graded tube will be meticulously cleaned to like new condition and will provide excellent sound quality. "High Fidelity tubes will range from New Old Stock testing to 10% above Good specifications and have balanced sections within 30%.
Vintage tubes that are more closely matched than 30% may earn a PLUS rating. At a minimum the tube will be housed in new white box, clearly labeled.
