    Description

Though I hate to part with it, I am selling this beautiful example of the "Bond" bike. These bikes are increasingly fewer in number and they are swiftly becoming collectables.  I bought it to ride during the pandemic about a year ago, but with the anticipated return to "normal," I am not riding as much as I had anticipated and this bike needs to be ridden by someone who will take care of her as much as I and her last owner have.  I've only put about 1000 miles on it, though the mileage will increase since I ride it some. Besides, with no back rest, the wife doesn't feel comfortable going for a 2up ride and that kills some of the fun.
So, some specifics: the 1998 model bike has 30k on the odometer and runs like a top. The front and back tires have less than 3k on them. Everything works. The ABS light blinks, but this happened on my last R1200c as well--it in no way affects the brake performance.  The motor purrs with the typical sedated BMW tones and the bike has plenty of torque.  It will fly in quick order, but, as it weighs only 675lbs, it still maintains the maneuverability of a much smaller steed.  The transmission shifts flawlessly; the engine and transmission are protected by a BMW engine guard with highway pegs attached (this increases rideability on longer trips). It has a brand new battery.
As for the paint, it's virtually one of a kind. I've seen black (my last R1200c's color), cream, yellow, hunter green, and silver, but I have only seen one other maroon R1200c and it did not have matching seats and saddle bags. There is a small nick on the back fender, but the paint is otherwise flawless. All the chrome shines clear, though there is some flaking on the wheels (it is a 23 yr old bike after all).  I have a wider passenger seat in addition to the stock flip-up seat/backrest, a backrack, and an oversized custom suitcase that will come with the machine.
I can help with shipping, but it is the buyer's responsibility. As always, it's sold as is/ where is; please don't bid if you're gonna wuss out and not pay.  Good luck and Happy bidding!
